Hi, I’m Gareth

Over the last 18 years I have developed my craft as a documentary style photographer and filmmaker. I am based in Swansea, South Wales, where I live with my family in the beautiful surroundings of the Gower peninsular.

Whilst my beginnings in the content creator world were firmly rooted in the wedding industry, my interests and skillsets have evolved over the years and I now work on projects covering several media sectors. 

In addition to weddings these mainly focus on creating promotional content for businesses including product and company advertising films. 

My particular style of work has always drawn me to capturing not just the details of what I am recording, but to provide a documentary focus capturing the emotion of a scene. This is highlighted in the short documentary films available in my portfolio. 

I have recently added to the content catalogue available with the introduction of the Gareth Jones Films channel on YouTube. Content ranges from industry specific ‘How To’ guides to more general discussions and behind the scenes looks from a wide range of projects.

Regardless of the project I am working on, it’s really important for me that the whole process feels effortless to the client. Whether working with a  bride & groom on their wedding day or producing a marketing project with a corporate client. I believe that working in a discrete, unobtrusive way helps to create natural, emotive content, whether this is in a still or moving image, above all it feels real.
